Blogger Update: "Real" Gantt Charts in Notes Views

Category

OK, so Nathan called us out on our incorrect use of "Gantt chart" to describe what is really just a bar chart.  But as you will notice later in that comment thread yours truly threw out the challenge for someone to whip up a "real" Gantt chart using the same color column technique. Warren Elsmore even threw a little teaser into the comments a bit later that proves it is possible.

Nathan wasted little time in picking up the challenge and is even planning to make his code modular enough to be bolted onto SuperNTF.  He already has a downloadable sample, and in chatting with him I've learned he has taken the concept in a truly dynamic direction.  As you can see in this screenshot, he is allowing a user to specify a start date and number of days, and then his code populates a folder AND *builds the folder structure* on the fly, based on the number of columns required!  My IM reaction to this news was a little too "exhuberant" to reprint here, but you can imagine I was more than a little impressed.

Way to go Nathan!
